The Right to Educational Freedom

Parents have an inherent right to direct their children’s education, free from state control. This fundamental liberty allows families to choose educational paths that align with their values and beliefs, ensuring a personalized and effective learning experience.

Pono is an option for an alternative educational experience, your child is not enrolled in a Department of Education program, nor are they home being schooled.

Why Our Private Group Matters

Pono operates as a private member association without state oversight and feel it is crucial for maintaining educational autonomy. Private groups can provide a tailored educational environment that meets the unique needs of each child, free from the constraints of government regulations. In this way Pono Outdoor Adventures can best support the interests of our members and their children.

Join Us in Protecting Your Educational Choices

By joining a Private Membership Association (PMA), parents can safeguard their right to educate their children as they see fit. A properly established PMA denies state jurisdiction, offering a secure and independent educational setting. State mandates have no bearing, your child will not be tested or measured in anyway, there will be no reporting and no record of them being graded.

Do you have a lively keiki who simply can't sit still in long lines or stay confined to a desk for hours on end?

Or maybe your child is more in-tuned to the energy of the world and is feeling over stimulated and over whelmed in an industrial school setting?

Do you believe your child deserves the joy of exploring the world rather than being cooped up behind a chain-link fence, wearing a scannable name badge?

Or perhaps you have a homeschool student who doesn’t want to be home or schooled! â€‹
